sometimes all you need is a fresh cup of coffee, cozy puppy. I wanted to share with you all my little puppy, she is actually bigger now but I miss her being so small and sweet. Yes, she still bites, is not quite potty trained and is full of energy. She is an old English sheepdog. Her name is Bailey; so when I’m home and my family yells at her, I think they are yelling at me but let’s be honest I do not pee on the carpet anymore… I feel incredibly blessed to have this beautiful pup in my life. Right before I graduated my other dog, Bettis, passed away. With me leaving for WA and my sister going to study abroad my mom was left with no “baby” so we had to get her something to take care of and cuddle with. Once she found this sweet little pup in Southern California, she made a trip with her best friend and they went to pick up our little Bailey.

sometimes you think that everything is perfect, then your world falls apart and you feel like giving up. last semester was truly difficult, emotionally and mentally hard for me. this semester came around and I knew things had to change. I came into the semester worrying about where I belonged in my sorority and who wanted to take on me, I am practically three littles rolled into one. I had three beautiful, amazing sisters offer to adopt me and this was a really hard decision because it was hard to get another big diamond sister and give them this huge responsibility. I did not know that one of the three women was my new member educator, she taught us everything we needed to know while we were new members, before we were initiated. she basically was our mother for almost two months. one night I asked her if she would consider adopting me and all my emotional baggage. I truly thought nobody wanted to adopt someone like me. over winter break, she took me in and we grew closer, inch by inch. I know for me and many other sisters it is hard to not have an automatic connection with your big diamond sister, but sometimes the ones that take time to grow are the best. I didn't truly understand how much she cared for me until she explained it to me. one evening, she said something that I will never forget "I will never leave you. I am going to be your biggest supporter through everything." that's when I knew I made the right decision and that she was truly the best big diamond sister EVER!

I believe that we all go into college or the next step of our live's after high school, with high expectations. We expect that we will thrive, create a new independent life and become who we are meant to be. We create goals and wait for them to be reached, however we want to skip a thousand tiny steps to get to the end result. (Kind of like final causation in Science 101.... I learned that this year, amongst many things...) We really like seeing to do lists, or at least i do, and enjoy crossing things off slowly hour by hour. It becomes the little things you accomplish that you feel most proud of. One hour of studying, CHECK! You can be amazed at how much one hour of solid studying everyday will do for you.
